Ethiopian Opal Characteristics and Care
Ethiopian opal has an amazing fire and color play. However, ethiopian opal is like a sponge and attracts all the moisture around it. Opals could turn brown if the absorbed particles get trapped and do not evaporate. So the opal jewelry needs to be worn with care.
Opal care instruction: Keep away from water, oil, lotion, perfume, hair spray, hand soap, harsh cleaning agents, do not wear it in the shower or a swiming pool; Opals could turn brown after absorbing these substances; simply wipe with a clean soft cloth. Do not use a steamer or ultrasonic cleaner.
